- The fact that this prestigious prize has been awarded to ABC Data for the fifth time over the past years is the evidence of our strong and stable position in the region, as well as our excellent relations with suppliers. I am convinced that it will help us further develop the business on other markets, especially inGermany and Romania, where we have opened our local subsidiaries just recently and on which we particularly rely – says Norbert Biedrzycki, the President of ABC Data, who in person collected the award at the gala event in Monaco, last Thursday – This is great satisfaction for all of us, but, most of all, this award constitutes a source of motivation. ABC Data, the leader of IT distribution in Central and Eastern Europe, commenced direct operations on the Hungarian market. A subsidiary, ABC Data Hungary Kft., was registered in October 2012 and has been operating in Hungary since 5 November. The distributor aims to repeat the success achieved in the Baltic countries, where in the first half of 2012, it doubled sales compared with the same period in 2011.
Hungary is the eighth country in which ABC Data conducts its activities. It operates there using a model which has been successfully applied for six years in Slovakia and for two years in Lithuania. It is an optimum solution – costs are low and at the same time development is facilitated by allowing conducting export sales to neighbouring countries. This proved excellent in the Baltic countries region.
"As a distributor operating directly in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Baltic countries, as well as exporting products to 30 countries, we have extensive experience in identifying and adjusting to the peculiarity of new markets. Entering the Hungarian market is the next stage of building our position in the region which has a big, and yet not fully leveraged, business potential in the field of IT distribution. What distinguishes us from our competitors is a particularly wide product range, high added value in the form of services we offer, as well as well-developed original e-commerce systems supporting every aspect of customer service. We are convinced that thanks to this advantage we will become an important player in Hungary within a few months", said Wojciech Łastowiecki, Vice-President of the Management Board of ABC Data.
ABC Data Hungary provides services to partners in the Hungarian language and delivers the InterLink sales platform, as well as B2B and B2C systems operating on its basis, which enable Partners to provide services to their customers via the Internet in a local language version. Customers have access to a wide range of ABC Data products which enjoy great popularity with Partners of loyalty and discount programs. In addition, logistics services are also based on well-established standards – goods are delivered from two warehouses located in Poland, and, in a great majority of cases, they are carried out the next business day.
"The Hungarian IT market matches perfectly the peculiarity of the region in which ABC Data group operates. Just like in other countries, the basic sales channel is based on e-commerce solutions – we will certainly manage to demonstrate our superiority in this field", said Viktor Hegedüs, Managing Director of ABC Data Hungary. "For the beginning of the next year we have planned a roadshow for our customers, which will enable us to present our company – we will present the functionality of on-line service systems, product portfolio and the whole range of services on offer", he added.
ABC Data, the leader in IT distribution in Central and Eastern Europe, has been chosen as the best distributor of the region for the fourth time in a row.
The prestigious EMEA Channel Academy prize was awarded to the Company during the DISTREE EMEA conference, one of the biggest events integrating the environment of distributors and manufacturers of the IT industry.
Distributor of the Year" is awarded by fifty major global manufacturers of the IT industry who nominate five finalists in each category and then, during the official ceremony, vote for the best distributor in the region. The main criteria for awarding the title are the following: sales growth, expanding distribution channels, credit terms, financing, inventory management, logistics, market development and relationships with resellers. ABC Data has continuously been awarded since 2009.
"This award is of great importance for us because it is given by the major manufacturers of IT equipment. Their trust is a sign that ABC Data works according to the highest global standards and in no way deviates from the largest global distributors. It also confirms the rightness of the strategy adopted by the Company, which assumes a presence on all markets of Central and Eastern Europe," says Michał Rumiński, President of the management board of ABC Data S.A.
Currently, ABC Data operates in seven countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Latvia and Estonia, with a total population of 84 million. In 2012 the Company plans the commencement and organic growth of its business activity in Bulgaria, Slovenia and Hungary. By the end of 2012, ABC Data will be present on markets populated by more than 100 million. The Company has the strongest position in each sales channel; it also has the broadest product portfolio from over 300 manufacturers.
In December ABC Data began operations in Latvia and Estonia. Expansion into these markets is a part of the long-term development strategy of the listed company.
After a very successful year on the Lithuanian market, on 1 December 2011 ABC Data started sales targeted at the Latvian and Estonian Business Partners. The company uses the online customer service tools in these countries tested on other foreign markets, and a centralized logistics model.
"I am pleased with our dynamic development. We are the only IT distributor in our region with such a large geographical range and we continue to expand the territories operated by us. From the beginning of December, we will launch for customers from the Baltic countries our innovative Internet system, InterLink, which allows taking orders, and handling logistics and marketing. From the very outset our company has been offering a comprehensive portfolio of about 28 thousands products from over 200 manufacturers," - says Wojciech Łastowiecki, Vice President of the Management Board, responsible for sales of ABC Data.
The InterLink System, which processes more than 90 percent of the orders, is adapted to the needs of each of the markets in which ABC Data operates. It allows efficiently serving customers in selected languages. Customers from Latvia and Estonia will initially use the English version of InterLink. In the first quarter of 2012 it is planned to make the system available in Russian as well.
The goods will be shipped to customers in the Baltic countries primarily from the logistics centre in Warsaw. As in the case of Lithuania, the customer service is to be partly managed by dedicated personnel operating from the company's central office in Warsaw.
